During RIM’s annual shareholder conference recently, RIM CEO Thorsten Heins mentioned the development update for BBM for BlackBerry 10 with the addition of video calling & chat and even further advancements of BBM for connected applications.

Although there was rumors of possibly licensing Blackberry Messenger out to other mobile platforms, RIM CEO Thorsten Heins has made it clear on more than one occasion now that BBM is something BlackBerry wants to keep for itself. Keeping BlackBerry Messenger to BlackBerry only will help BlackBerry in the longrun remains to be seen but this BMM update with video chat integration is something that a lot of BlackBerry users have been asking for for quite some time.
