Twitter for BlackBerry: 2 New Updates in December

Dec 20, 2011 No Comments by

Just this month, Research in Motion has already released a couple of updates for the social networking site on its handsets. On December 7th, version 2.1.0.27 was released with two new prominent features:

1. Multiple Account Support: Perhaps one of the most requested features in the application, users with several Twitter accounts can now switch conveniently between their active usernames within the application.

2. Option to share tweets in BBMessenger: With the smartphone’s high integration to social networking and email, RIM has now included the option to share a tweet from a users timeline with his/her BBM contacts.

Apart from these two additions, the upgrade has also rendered the application with quite a different look by adding two new icons in the user’s profile page.

Immediately following this upgrade across BlackBerry handsets, another one has just been rolled out, version 2.1.0.28, to provide the ubiquitous bug fixes. In addition to that, BlackBerry App World specifically noted that for this version “…Blackberry Curve and BlackBerry Pearl users are now able to view a user’s profile page from an @Mention.”

Users should now have the improved Twitter application as the prompt for the upgrade has already been generated.

And as always, you can post some comments below about what you think of these updates.
