BlackBerry Mobile Hotspot Feature For Globe Prepaid Users

Are you a Globe Prepaid user and your Mobile Hotspot is not working? When you try calling or Live chat with Globe Tech Support, they always say “Mobile Hotspot feature is only for POSTPAID ONLY!” Nope!
I’m a Prepaid user and I can use my Mobile Hotspot. Here’s some proof (see photos below).
Solution:
Ask them to “refresh your Service Book..” or “your tethering is not working..” Wait for SMS confirmation or observe the 2 diagonal arrows (sending / receiving data) at the right top corner of the screen, when it stops, perform a hard reset by pulling your battery while your BlackBerry is ON and reinsert again in a few seconds. Once your BlackBerry boots up, try to connect. Leave Username and Password blank, just hit OK. Finally, About Mobile Hotspot prompt, hit Continue. (see photo below)
That’s it! Enjoy your Mobile Hotspot feature!
Note: Only works in BBMax. To subscribe, dial *143# and press Call button. When your BBMax expired, your Mobile Hotspot will not work again. Else, contact Globe again.






I’ve done that and it works but once my bbmax expires, mobile hotspot won’t connect again. How about yours?

It does work! If your BBMax expires, you just have to subscribe again and call Globe to refresh your service books to reflect that you’re subsrcribed to their BBMax service. Btw, your theme is gorgoues! Do. You mind sharing it? I can’t find any decent theme on AppWorld.

Where to call Globe? To have’em refresh my Service books? Do they have a direct line or something? I sometimes loose patience dialling and keep pressing those numbers the machine is instructing. Haha. Hope you can help me out with this one. Thank you!

It worked for me yesterday with bbmax50 , but its not working now when I subscribe again with bbmax599 tonight.. I asked globe again through talk2globe to refresh my service books, but she didn’t do it, instead she teach me how to manually search a network. =( what reason should i say so they will refresh it? Haha

Guess there really is a problem with the hotspot on prepaid. I was able to useit seamlessly a week ago, then my bbmax expired, now that I subscribed again, it won’t work.
can someone pls verify if hotspot is still working for prepaid?
@Myx, Yes, is still working. Once your subscription expired, just contact Globe again.

For my experience last February 23, 2013, my BBMax subscription ended at 5:55am. Then, I register again at 12:39pm, same day. When my BBMax already active, i tried to check if my hotspot working. Then suddenly, Poof! I’m connected!
Does this work for all devices with 7.1 bb os like curve 9220?

hi, i’d like to ask if you know how to use bbmaz as dial up?
my phone has no hotspot capability (torch), but i have researched that i can do tethering instead. my device is already paired up with my laptop via bluetooth. it was said that i need to do dialup to connect to internet using my BB. i want to use my bbmax service, but i don’t know what to input on the field requiring the traditional card number and password in a dial up setting.

Hi. What if im going to register for 1month bbmax? after the globe refresh my service book it will expire by 1month?
If your BBMax expired, you need to contact Globe again to refresh your service book.
i think this one isn’t working anymore. i tried 4 times asking the globe customer service agent thru chat to refresh my service book. but my hot spot still aint working

Hi, I’m on Postpaid and registered to BBMax, but I can’t use mobile hotspot. I already contacted Globe to refresh my service books, requested for the APN settings, done hard reset several times but it is still not working.
