Try Mircowarehouse in Pasig City – they are the official distributor of Blackberry products locally. I think somehow they are also handling the support or something.

Also try self troubleshooting below and let me know.

Have you tried using other charger or power source?

Else

Try holding power for 20seconds. This will do a hard reboot of the device.

Else

Reset it by holding power and both volume keys for 10 to 20 seconds.

Else

To reset your PlayBook, you'll need the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Software, a micro USB cable, a computer, and – of course – your PlayBook. Start Desktop Software on your computer and turn off your PlayBook. Yes, turn it off. Use the USB cable to connect your PlayBook to the computer and wait. After a moment, you should get an error message saying Desktop Software cannot connect to your PlayBook.

Click the "Update" button that's in the middle of the other two buttons, follow the on-screen instructions, and wait. Desktop Software will take care of downloading the OS and installing it to your PlayBook. The process could take up to an hour; make sure you keep your PlayBook connected until told it is safe to disconnect. Once finished, you'll be required to choose languages, set the time, sign in with your BlackBerry ID, and make final updates to the operating system – just like you did when you first received your tablet. After you're done, you'll once again have a working BlackBerry PlayBook.

I tried all the things you mentioned above but unfortunately, nothing works. I brought my playbook to Microware house in Pasig. The receiving girl told me that from the first look at it, the charging port was already damaged and it needed to be repaired in Singapore. I need to pay $343 for the repair because the damage is not covered by the warranty.

I am so sad and disappointed that I have to pay that much just to bring my playbook back into life. Its so sad the RIM could not offer a convenient aftersales support here in the Philippines. I really should have bought an Ipad or a Galaxy Tab. How frustrating!Cry

Awww.. That's really unfortunate. $3 frigging 43 dollars? OMG that's literally a brand new PlayBook.

Are you going to push through with the repairs?

Try to consult shops in Greenhills and see if they can make you a good deal on the repair.

PlayBook is still awesome though – don't switch to other tabs Laugh

Hahaha ok then – best of luck to it then.

I incase mine in Otterbox Defender case for my two year old daughter. Tons of bumps and falls and still working flawlessly.

i need help, i cant seem to get my playbook going. I tried the hard reset, holding the power button for a long time, pressing the volume keys, etc. and still it doesnt work! when i try plugging it to my laptop, there's that notorious 15sec red light with 5 green blinking lights after, which, as per other sites, says that my batt is dead flat and i have to charge it using my playbook charger, and yet after charging it for hours and hours at a time, it still wont work. hope any of you could assist me with this one.

Hi. Leave it charged for about 8hrs or so. Or until a 1% shows up and its all good. That usually happens when you drain the pb

Hi Berry_Globe,

Thats exactly what i did, didn't work. i recently tried the "stack-charge" method and it still didn't work..im hoping nothing's wrong here. the red light still does appear for a moment so it seems that my playbook still responds, unlike what happened to annfrani, but still, i just can't get it to turn on. do i have to use a different interval when using the stak-charge method?

Did you try hard ? There are times the playbook takes too long to boot. Volume and power button together

Hi Annfrani,

were you able to have you playbook repaired? i have the same problem as yours but im yet to go to visit warehousefix in pasig.

i emailed RIM support and they did mention that if it will not be covered by the warranty it sure comes with a repair fee but they advised me that it shouldn't cost $300 as its too expensive. they told me to email them back if they quoted me that price. anyway, just needed to know if you had yours fix. would appreciate if you can respond back. thanks.
