We’ve heard the rumors right – the upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS is coming to the BlackBerry PlayBook as soon as the software is released this fourth quarter of the year. Today, RIM/BlackBerry once again reiterated that the BlackBerry PlayBook will receive BlackBerry OS 10 via a Tweet stating, “Cascades support for PlayBook will come w/ the PlayBook OS upgrade to BB10, shortly after launch of 1st BB10 smartphone.”

Given that time-frame, we could possibly expect BlackBerry OS 10 for the BlackBerry PlayBook to release sometime this fourth quarter of the year. Perhaps, we’ll see it hit BlackBerry PlayBook before the Holidays, which will allow RIM/BlackBerry to re-market the BlackBerry PlayBook with its shiny new BlackBerry 10 OS. And maybe we’ll see the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G come to fruition after those events. Fingers crossed.

If you are rocking a BlackBerry PlayBook, you will find the new gesture based BlackBerry 10 user interface flow very similar. Without a “physical” button, the upcoming BlackBerry 10 touchscreen device will solely based on gesture based commands.

From this BlackBerry 10 app tray – an easy swipe to the right will get you back to your open apps.

This BlackBerry 10 four homescreen tiles are minimized versions of the actual running apps. Pretty much like the minimized apps on the PlayBook, except that they are arranged in a grid, rather than in a row.

In BlackBerry 10, swipe up from the bottom right corner for notifications, then over to the left to slide into the unified messaging.

What do you think about the BlackBerry 10 user interface and it being a gesture based touchscreen? Will you get one when it comes out? Sound off in the comment section below.

With CrackBerry getting a hold of one BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device, i can’t help but noticed the comparison of the upcoming BlackBerry 10 device versus the current smartphone giants ‘aesthetically’. Though BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device is not the final product yet – it still pack a hefty 4.2″ touchscreen display and has a 1280×768 display in tradition with the BlackBerry Playbook. Compared to the iPhone 4S, BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha is a lot thicker and bigger almost in par with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. But wait, BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha is just a developers toy – so we have to wait and see what RIM is going to put out for it’s hungry consumers this coming October.

Another great feature of the upcoming BlackBerry 10 devices is in the camera. The camera added features includes a face detection coupled with what seems to be a ‘wizardry’, heh. To put it plainly, you will have the ability to turn back time (a couple of seconds actually). Really gets handy on ‘ruined’ photos with people closed eyes etc. What it does actually i believe is pre-record everything before and after you completely pressed the shutter button. With pre-recorded images of your subject, the camera now can isolate that person and adjust the photo back to when the eyes are open or smiling. Another great feature of the camera is being touch sensitive, allowing you to touch anywhere the screen to snap the picture. Sounds awesome right? Check the video demonstration below and see the new BlackBerry 10 camera awesomesauce features in action.
